- Mar 29, 2020 I just added it to the neogeo.zip file, renamed it to 'uni-bios40.rom' and then copied the 'neogeo.zip' in to another folder and replaced the original 'uni-bios.rom' with the 4.0 'uni-bios.rom'version. Not really tested it yet so not sure how it wirks in FBA, Mame GeNeo etc.
- It doesn't recognize the neogeo bios, nor my roms. That's a program rom (flipflop.zip), not part of the neogeo.zip BIOS set. It was updated in the 140u1 release. Mame And NeoGeo Roms | Recalbox Forum
Hello everyone!
Lately i was trying to configure MAME v0.197 to run NeoGeo Roms and experienced errors complaining about missing files.
After some research i`ve found Zorlons Upload of NeoGeo BIOS for MAME v0.174 in the EP Forums containing the missing files that was actually solving the trouble with MAME v0.197. As i tried to download all missing files manually before i`ve downloaded also Universe BIOS v3.3 that was missing in Zorlons neogeo.zip. However MAME v0.197 yet make no use of it but maybe future releases do so i`ve included it and made this post to ease the search.
Instructions:
1) Setup MAME v0.197 as usual
2) download attachment (neogeo.zip) and place it in %MAME_DIR%roms
3) copy NeoGeo roms either into %MAME_DIR%roms or create a folder NeoGeo within the roms directory and place roms there
